I understand. First of all, it’s not easy. Studying the Word of God can be challenging. Secondly, yes, there is a method, and I’m happy to share mine with you and suggest some others as well. If you are overwhelmed, that is natural.
I encourage beginners to start small. As a beginner, I recommend you don’t start cold. Instead, I suggest you find a written bible study, and take small segments at a time. Set aside a study time and use a study guide. There are many wonderful bible studies out there, and I offer several. Find one that interests you or speaks to your heart.
However, keep in mind, my own method may not be what works for you, because when I study, I do not use a study guide or bible study. Instead I have discovered a process I call ‘Scriptural Excavation’, which utilizes a Berean approach. These are what I teach.
Keep in mind, we all learn differently, so you’ll want to develop your own method and become familiar with your own learning style.
Whatever method you use, allow the Holy Spirit to lead. Every study time will be different, but there are some simple things you can do to help yourself prepare. For help with study please visit the pages The Basics of Bible Study and Learning Styles.
