God is a God of order and peace. When there is order, there is peace. Part of establishing and maintaining proper order is through the appropriation of boundaries. God set clear boundaries within creation, and He defined moral boundaries for us within His word. When we transgress boundaries, there are consequences, both in the temporal and spiritual worlds.
We often clearly understand boundaries in the defined areas of life such as our finances and personal property. Yet they become more obscure in areas such as our soul realm and relationships, making them more difficult to determine.
There are many kinds of boundaries. Knowing how to implement them for yourself and respect those of others is key to living a life of peace. If you struggle with establishing proper boundaries in your life, you will encounter disorder and subsequent frustration and pain. And if you transgress those of others, you will surely encounter the consequences. But with proper boundaries you can enjoy the peace, order, and blessing God provides, as well as safety and security.
