Our Use of Social Media: Your Appointed Time Ministries Update
As announced earlier this year in our last update, our use of social media has changed drastically — as promised.
Our Online Presence
We have streamlined our use of social media while remaining relevant online and making our work available to the masses. We have chosen three primary portals by which our work will be shared:
SOCIAL MEDIA: We have chosen Twitter.
Twitter honors the first amendment as well as their user’s privacy. They also provide the options necessary for security, messaging, and advertising. Twitter removes the clutter and offers a clean platform with an optimal reach.
PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING: We have chosen LinkedIn.
This remains a strictly private account for interactions with other ministries, artists, and authors in the following industries: Christian ministry, Native American relations, writing/publishing, art/design, marketing/communications, and digital media. We use LinkedIn specifically for professional interactions. If you are such an individual or entity, we kindly ask that you In-Mail us via LinkedIn if you desire to connect by introducing yourself and explaining your desire or objective in making that connection. Likewise, we will do you the same courtesy when reaching out to other professionals in these industries. We will never initiate a blind connection with anyone, even if we know you. There must be a defined purpose for that connection that makes networking viable.
DIGITAL MEDIA: We have chosen Vimeo.
Vimeo offers unsurpassed quality for professional digital media with wonderful tools for both the novice and professional. Again, they offer optimal security and privacy by remaining a solely individual platform that is not integrated with any other network such as Google, Facebook, etc. Many social media sites are now fully integrated. If you’re logged into one, you can log into others and have your data automatically transferred (including your contacts). Vimeo does not allow that, and we think that’s a good thing. Video media is a powerful tool which we look forward to implementing for our audience in the days ahead.
All other social media accounts (Google Plus, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook) have been closed, deactivated, or set strictly to private, and although our content may be found there, any account associated with us (if remaining) are not intended for public use.
WORD OF MOUTH (a.k.a. one-on-one sharing) IS THE MOST RELIABLE MARKETING KNOWN.
People are more inclined to (1) remember and (2) take active interest when someone shares with them personally, even when its accomplished via social media.
After much prayer it has been decided that word of mouth is the manner by which we are trusting God to move and spread our work. Therefore, the use of social media will become primarily user-driven. We will provide the content on the above portals. However, it may be shared without limitation across any social media site of your choice from our website. We trust that if individuals want to share it, they will. We also trust God to put our content before the people who genuinely need or desire our written work, ministry, services, resources and published products.
Every post and page on our site still offers all the sharing tools you need for your social media site of choice — including those in Europe and abroad, as well as an option for printing and email. We do not limit our users in their sharing. On the contrary, we encourage it by offering you expanded options.
If you are not a social media user, we suggest you consider subscribing to our blog. In this way you will remain in the loop, and you can read or share privately.
If you are blessed by our content, please share it! You’ll find you have plenty of choices. There is something for everyone. And again, word of mouth, a.k.a. one-on-one sharing, is the most reliable.
Our Online Appearance
We have continually striven to use the very best tools available in the online industry to make our presence known. We diligently strive for a professional, secure, clean, and peaceful presence for all our online visitors.
Our appearance online is important. As you may well know, appearances are the first impression. They speak clearly about a individual or entity. Although our appearance has not been bad and has garnered many compliments — we believe it can be better. Following a close objective look at our website, we’ve noticed some things that need changing. Some of those changes are very small. Others are more noticeable and will have a greater impact.
In the days and weeks ahead we are resolving key issues in design, communication, and formatting that will make your experience easier as well as more pleasant. We are currently updating our website with new photos, graphics, and formatting to provide every visitor a simpler yet more streamlined experience that is equally as beautiful. We hope to have this accomplished by the end of this summer 2016, and we hope that as you see the changes coming about that you will enjoy visiting and browsing. Once this is complete, will will notify you via an update such as this one.
Our Core Purpose
Our tagline for this ministry will soon be changing to better reflect and communicate our core purpose, which is to prepare you for Christ’s return.
The tagline currently reads: Your Life Preserved, Prepared, & Purified. It will soon read: Preparing You for Christ’s Return. Again, we believe this is a more accurate and succinct statement that better reflects our core purpose.
In closing, we are trusting God to move us forward through people like you who share and support our work via the portals of your choice. Once more, we also encourage one-on-one sharing which is always the most beneficial and reliable. If you have any questions or concerns we want to know, and welcome you to contact us.
Thank you for your support!
Cheers & Shalom,
